Very difficult weather conditions just before and just after the race were made light of by the magnificent 87 who braved the elements for the 10th anniversary race. Not only was this a record field but Rachael Bamford (Otley AC) set a new Ladies Record of 8m 54s, V50 Lady Gill Myers (Wharfedale Harriers) came first overall in her age group as well as being Third Lady, and V70 Peter Covey (Bingley Harriers) won his age group as well as finishing before any V60 or V65 runner. Overall winner for the second consecutive year was Tom Adams (Ilkley Harriers) with Bob Addey repeating his 2009 second place.

It was great to see, especially on such a poor day, that as well as continuing to attract a wealth of local talent across the age groups, runners came from as far afield as Cambridgeshire, Oldham, Kendal and Rotherham.

Even more so than in previous years, huge thanks are due to the club members who volunteered to help with the race especially the Finish Team, drenched high up on the Moor, and the Results Team who incredibly somehow managed to produce results from sheets that were rapidly becoming an undecipherable paper mush.

The very generous sponsorship of the race by The Bicycle Shop, Skipton, Ilkley Physiotherapy, and Up & Running, together with a one individual prize per competitor policy, ensured that over 25% of the field received a prize (plus the traditional marrows for the winners provided by Bernie Connor).
